At the Globe Innovation Forum 2018, Globe Telecom President and CEO Ernest Cu reminded employees to open their minds to new processes, technologies, and experiences that the company can bring to its customers.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — At the Globe Innovation Forum 2018, Globe Telecom President and CEO Ernest Cu reminded employees to open their minds to new processes, technologies, and experiences that the company can bring to its customers.

This event was supported by NEC Philippines as it provided the facial recognition system that was used to ensure a smooth and seamless process of registration at the event.

“We wanted Globe employees and stakeholders to not just imagine but experience the workplace of the future, and facial recognition technology is part of our vision. Our aim is to enhance the overall office and workspace experience using the right combination of technology and lean processes,” said Pebbles Sy-Manalang, Chief Information Officer at Globe Telecom.

“Business today exists in a constantly evolving environment. Advancement of technology and digital transformation drive enterprises and companies to transform their business models to remain relevant today and the future. The use of our facial recognition technology in the Globe Innovation Forum is an example of how Globe Telecom and NEC’s partnership has resulted in improved services for different stakeholders,” said Joji Yamamoto, deputy president of NEC Philippines, Inc.

Mr Yamamoto said both companies shared the vision of using technology to advance digital transformation at the workplace. “NEC’s facial recognition technology promotes a more efficient and seamless process of registration. The biometrics solutions measured and matched the unique characteristics of the participants for the purposes of identification or authentication, thus strengthening security protocols for events like this,” Yamamoto added.

The long partnership between Globe Telecom and NEC Philippines has presented the technology industry with innovative solutions.
