Digital financial services leader PayMaya is offering another fintech-first in the Philippines with the launch of the PayMaya Mall, the latest feature in the PayMaya app that offers a one-stop-shop experience with the biggest and most trusted merchant partners.

Through PayMaya Mall, mobile shoppers can check out and buy from over 100 merchants accepting PayMaya as a payment method – all within the PayMaya app, an experience that is akin to browsing shops and merchant stalls in physical malls.

Among the biggest brands in the food, retail, pharmacy, grocery, and fashion industries that are already present in the PayMaya Mall are Jollibee, McDonald’s, Goldilocks, Rustans, Park Outlet, Mercury Drug, Rose Pharmacy, Landers, All Home, and Boozy. More brands are coming soon as PayMaya taps into its network of over 116,000 merchant touchpoints.

“Mall shopping is so ingrained in Filipino popular culture and the COVID-19 pandemic has drastically affected not just consumers but also, the growth of retail merchants. With the PayMaya Mall feature embedded in our app, we aim to reinforce our commitment to boost e-Commerce and digital payments in the Philippines, supported by the full force and strength of our unique ecosystem,” said Shailesh Baidwan, President of PayMaya.

“With this initiative, we are bringing our partner merchants closer to our more than 28 million customers nationwide. Consumers, on the other hand, can get their regular shopping done from the convenience and safety of their own homes while enjoying exclusive perks and rewards — all through the PayMaya app,” he added.

Bridging merchants to consumers

As the only financial technology company in the Philippines providing end-to-end digital payments solutions for all with its acquiring, wallet, and remittance network businesses, PayMaya is uniquely positioned to bring consumers and merchants together via a one-stop digital destination that can help them gain more value from buying and selling online.

Through its enterprise business, PayMaya is the leading acquirer and payment processing partner of everyday merchants and the largest e-Commerce players in the Philippines today, empowering them to accept all kinds of digital payments, including cards and e-Wallets, via their online and physical retail channels.

In 2020 alone, PayMaya processed over P95 billion worth of online shopping transactions, helping push the share of digital payments for e-Commerce past 50% versus cash in 2020, based on industry estimates.

“With our push towards embedded commerce within the PayMaya app, we aim to help foster the growth and recovery of local businesses. At the same time, we are offering a more convenient and rewarding shopping experience to all our PayMaya users,” added Mark Jason Dee, Head of Growth Marketing and Partnerships of PayMaya.

PayMaya Mall is another pioneering innovation from PayMaya that aims to boost e-Commerce transactions in the Philippines. For casual online and chat sellers, the company has been promoting the use of Payment Links and QR Ph-enabled codes via the PayMaya app that has made payments as easy as sending messages via email, Facebook Messenger, or Viber. For more established merchants, PayMaya offers a wide array of solutions such as PayMaya Checkout payment gateway, PayMaya Negosyo app, and PayMaya One terminals.

PayMaya is the only end-to-end digital payments ecosystem enabler in the Philippines with platforms and services that cut across consumers, merchants, communities, and government. Through its enterprise business, it is the largest digital payments processor for key industries in the country including “everyday” merchants such as the largest retail, food, gas, and eCommerce merchants as well as government agencies and units.

Through its app and wallet, PayMaya provides over 28 million Filipinos with access to financial services. Customers can conveniently pay, add money, cash out or remit through its over 200,000 digital touchpoints nationwide. Its Smart Padala by PayMaya network of over 37,000 partner agent touchpoints nationwide serves as last-mile digital financial hubs in communities, providing the unbanked and underserved with access to digital services.
