eSPORTS | Here are first 14 teams, talent line-up for Dota 2 Singapore Major

ONE Esports, a subsidiary of ONE Championship (ONE), recently announced the first 14 participating teams from five Dota 2 regions.

ONE Esports, a subsidiary of ONE Championship (ONE), the largest global sports media property in Asian history, announced on Wednesday the first round of participating teams and invited talent to the ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major Presented By PGL, the first Major event of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit.

The event organizers announced the first 14 participating teams from five Dota 2 regions: Europe, Southeast Asia, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), North America, and South America. The teams include Europe’s Team Secret, Alliance, Nigma and Team Liquid, CIS’ Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere and AS Monaco Gambit, Southeast Asia’s Fnatic, Neon Esports and T1, North America’s Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew, South America’s Beastcoast and Thunder Predator. Teams from China will be determined in mid-March.

In addition, ONE and PGL announced the Major’s participating talent. They are Jorien “Sheever” van der Heijden, Kasumi “sumichu” Kelly Yogi, Owen “ODPixel” Davies, Ioannis “Fogged” Loucas, Benjamin “Bkop” Kopilow, Dominik “Lacoste” Stipić, Admir “lizZard” Salkanovich, Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier, David “GoDz” Parker, Neal “tsunami” Khandheria, Johan “Weppas” Westberg and Rikard “skrff” Holm Melin.

Presented by esports tournament organizer PGL, and organized in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the Singapore Major will take place on 27 March to 4 April at Fairmont Singapore. The tournament, featuring 18 of the world’s top teams, will be a closed-door and streamed event across various platforms.

ONE Esports, with our partners PGL and STB, is excited to deliver one of the most prestigious esports experiences in the world. Fans from around the globe can look forward to action-packed competition from the world’s best Dota 2 teams and exciting commentary from the best Dota 2 hosts, casters, and analysts.”

“Having an on-site event during this period is a major accomplishment, and we’re delighted to run this fantastic event which will set the stage for the best teams in the world,” said Silviu Stroie, chief executive of PGL. “The Dota 2 community deserves a top-notch tournament, and we want to assure everyone that we’ll do our best to provide an amazing experience for the viewers. We will take all the measures needed to have a safe tournament in a healthy environment. We would also like to thank Singapore for having us, the only place where running such a large international tournament is possible.”

In line with COVID-19 safety measures, no spectators will be allowed at the tournament. Fans may tune in to the live streaming of the matches across platforms such as Twitch, Facebook, YouTube or ONE Esports’ official site with the main stream playing at the top of the home page.

ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major Presented by PGL will be the first Major broadcast in glorious 4K resolution at 60 fps.
