From the 9th spot in 2020, the Philippines is now the 6th country Tweeting the most
about gaming in the first half of 2021.

In 2020, there were more than two billion Tweets about gaming and the conversation hasn’t skipped a beat in 2021. Between esports leagues like the Call of Duty League & Valorant Champions Tour, to global gaming events like E3 & Summer Game Fest, there has been an 18% increase in Tweets about gaming Year-on-Year (YoY).
Gamers around the world come to Twitter to discuss all of the latest happenings and trends. From new game announcements, patch notes, highlights from major esports events, bets on risky tattoos – it all happens on the micro-blogging platform.
Meanwhile, gamers from the Philippines have definitely levelled up their voices and excitement on Twitter’s gaming scene in the first half of 2021. From the 9th place in 2020, PH now ranks up to 6th surpassing India, France, and the United Kingdom.

Gaming trends among Filipinos on Twitter
Filipinos sure know what are the latest and trending games, expressing their excitement and experience through Tweets. But of course, mainstay games remain in the hearts and discussion of Filipinos and around the globe.
A lot has happened in the Esports scene, even though only half the year has passed. Filipino gamers showed their support for their favorite teams and players and connected with the source themselves on Twitter.
While we are starting to see the return of live sporting events, the esports industry never let up amidst the pandemic due to online play, with plenty of leagues ramping up since the beginning of the year. We’ll stay tuned on the impact around live esports events when those return in the second half of the year as well.
