Samsung has introduced its new Galaxy A06 5G in the Philippines, a budget-friendly smartphone that promises solid performance and enhanced security without the high price tag. The phone is available for P7,990 and is now being offered at Samsung stores and online outlets across the country.
The Galaxy A06 5G comes equipped with Samsung’s Knox Vault security system, which is designed to protect sensitive data, including passwords and personal information, through hardware-based encryption. Samsung has emphasized the importance of security, especially as more people rely on their phones for everything from financial transactions to managing daily tasks.
“Your phone does so much today—it has to protect everything too,” said a Samsung spokesperson. The company also highlighted the inclusion of Samsung Weaver, a security feature that slows down access after multiple failed login attempts, making it harder for attackers to breach the phone.
Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and 4GB of RAM, the device supports multitasking and offers a 6.7-inch display, providing a decent experience for gaming, streaming, and social media browsing. It also boasts a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 25-watt fast charging for quicker recharges.
The Galaxy A06 5G is built for users who want a reliable device without the cost associated with flagship phones. Samsung is offering four years of security updates and Android and One UI software upgrades for the device, ensuring it stays current over time.
“Built for the movers and makers, the Galaxy A06 5G is for those who need a phone that can keep up with their fast-paced lifestyle,” the company said.
The phone features a slim design at 8.0 mm thick and is available in Light Gray and Black. It also comes with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, adding an extra layer of durability.
To encourage sales, Samsung is offering a free travel adapter with each purchase until June 30, 2025. Payment options include credit card installment plans and zero percent interest financing through Samsung Finance+.
The Galaxy A06 5G marks Samsung’s continued push to offer accessible smartphones with key features like security and performance for a broader audience.
