Smart Communications has launched a new mobile brand, KiQ, aimed at providing a fully app-based, personalized digital telco experience for Gen Z users in the Philippines.

Launched on August 8, KiQ is being billed as the country’s first app-exclusive mobile service. Through its dedicated app, users can create a custom plan that suits their needs by selecting how much data to use, whether to include calls and texts, and how long the plan should last. Subscribers can also pick their own number.

“Filipino Gen Zs are redefining how they live, share, and stay connected. With KiQ, we’re giving them a mobile experience that puts them in full control — no wasted data, no unnecessary add-ons, just total freedom and flexibility,” said Smart COO Anastacio “Boy” Martirez.

The KiQ App, available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, allows users to purchase a P99 eSIM, personalize their plan, and activate their number without scanning a QR code—Smart’s first use of QR-less eSIM activation. The entire onboarding process can be completed within minutes through the app.

KiQ also promises better network access in high-traffic areas, such as concerts, malls, and campuses, to ensure faster browsing and streaming.

The launch comes as demand grows for digital-first and self-service mobile options, particularly among tech-savvy users who prefer flexibility and independence in managing their plans.

Smart positions KiQ as a forward-looking service built around the habits and expectations of younger mobile users. The company says the new offering is not just about connectivity but about enabling a more personalized and responsive mobile lifestyle.
