TELECOM | Smart, TNT Boost Leyte Festivals with 5G Expansion, Special Promos

Smart Communications Inc. and its value brand TNT powered two of Leyte’s biggest June festivities — the Sangyaw Festival in Tacloban City and the Pintados Festival in Leyte province — with expanded 5G coverage, special promos, and audience engagement activities.
The back-to-back celebrations, held on the same day, honored the Holy Child, Señor Santo Niño, through religious processions, music, sports, pageants, and cultural showcases. Highlights included the Sangyaw Festival of Lights dance competition and the Pintados Festival’s grand ritual showdown.
Smart recently expanded its 5G sites in Tacloban City, allowing festivalgoers to share real-time moments online. TNT set up sales booths offering promos, freebies, and the “Saya Fest” experience, while also powering text-based voting for the TNT Choice Award in pageant competitions.
