Digital bank Maya has officially launched the Maya Black Credit Card and Maya Black Preferred program, integrating its consumer and enterprise platforms into a single ecosystem for banking, payments, lending, and rewards.

Since its pilot in May 2025, Maya has issued more than 40,000 Black Credit Cards. The card offers secured and unsecured credit lines, fast digital approval, instant virtual issuance, and in-app account control. Cardholders earn Maya Miles with every purchase, which can be used at partner merchants or converted into travel rewards such as Philippine Airlines’ Mabuhay Miles.

Features include 3,000 bonus miles for meeting initial spending requirements, global acceptance through Visa, access to airport lounges via DragonPass, and enhanced digital security with a numberless design and in-app freeze or replacement options.

Complementing the card, Maya Black Preferred links cardholders to more than 600 participating merchants nationwide, offering up to 10 times the regular Maya Miles on purchases. The program connects to Maya’s acquiring network, which processes over half of all card transactions in the country, and aims to boost customer loyalty and merchant engagement.

Maya executives said the integrated system allows for faster credit approvals, better risk assessment, and personalized offers — a significant step in a market where only 15% of Filipino adults had a credit card as of 2023, according to TransUnion. The company plans to expand tailored credit solutions to micro, small, and medium enterprises using insights from its payment processing tools.
