VinFast’s VF 5 electric crossover is positioning itself as one of the most accessible EVs in the Philippine market, appealing to first-time car buyers, young professionals, and families looking for a practical shift away from gas-powered vehicles.
Compact at under four meters in length, the VF 5 is designed for urban driving, from navigating Manila traffic to fitting into tight parking spaces. Despite its small footprint, the model offers a roomy cabin with flexible cargo space, catering to daily commutes and weekend trips alike.
The VF 5 runs on a 100 kW (134 hp) electric motor with 135 Nm of torque, providing smooth acceleration and confident city driving. On a full charge, it can travel up to 326 kilometers under the NEDC standard. Fast-charging capabilities allow the battery to reach 70 percent in about 30 minutes.
VinFast has paired the VF 5’s affordability with incentives. The vehicle qualifies for zero excise tax under the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act, and owners get free charging at V-GREEN stations nationwide until 2027. For drivers managing rising fuel costs, the savings and incentives make the VF 5 a cost-conscious alternative to gasoline vehicles.
Inside, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with standard features including keyless entry, push-start ignition, and cruise control. Safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a reinforced safety frame.
The VF 5 was developed with Torino Design, an Italian studio known for bold, youthful styling. Two-tone color options and sharp body lines reflect its appeal to younger buyers and city drivers seeking both function and style.
While VinFast markets the model globally, it is gaining traction locally among Filipino motorists who see EVs as an attainable option. The VF 5 is targeted toward budget-conscious buyers, eco-aware individuals, and families seeking a second car that balances safety, convenience, and affordability.
