Apple has introduced the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, its latest flagship smartphones featuring a redesigned aluminum unibody, upgraded cameras, and the new A19 Pro chip.
The two models come in 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display sizes, each with a Super Retina XDR screen that supports ProMotion up to 120Hz, Always-On display, and peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Both the front and back are now protected by Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple says offers improved scratch and crack resistance.
A major highlight is the new A19 Pro processor, paired with a built-in vapor chamber cooling system for better sustained performance during gaming, video editing, and AI-heavy tasks. The redesign also makes room for a larger battery, with the Pro Max promising the longest battery life yet on an iPhone. Fast charging remains available with 50% charge in about 20 minutes when using a high-wattage USB-C adapter.
The iPhone 17 Pro lineup introduces a three-camera system with 48MP Fusion Main, Ultra Wide, and a new Telephoto lens. The Telephoto sensor allows up to 8x optical zoom—the longest ever on an iPhone—while a new 18MP Center Stage front camera improves group selfies and video calls with AI-powered framing. Video capabilities have also been expanded with support for ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and genlock for professional workflows.
On the connectivity front, the devices include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and eSIM-only models in select markets, which allow extra battery space. The phones ship with iOS 26, featuring Apple Intelligence tools such as on-device translation and improved content recognition.
Color options include deep blue, cosmic orange, and silver. Preorders open September 12, with availability beginning September 19.
