GADGETS | Galaxy A07 5G, next Galaxy AI phone teased ahead of unpacked
Samsung is expanding its budget 5G lineup in the Philippines while preparing to unveil its next flagship AI-focused smartphone later this month in San Francisco.
The company has confirmed that its next Galaxy S series device will debut at Galaxy Unpacked on Feb. 26 at 2 a.m. Philippine time in San Francisco. The event will be livestreamed globally and is positioned as the next phase of Samsung’s AI-driven mobile strategy.
At the same time, Samsung has launched the Galaxy A07 5G locally, targeting users who want affordable 5G connectivity with long battery life and AI features.
Budget 5G with larger battery
The Galaxy A07 5G features a 6.7-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 800 nits of brightness for outdoor visibility. It runs on a 6 nm processor and is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery, which Samsung says is designed for extended video playback and daily multitasking.
On the camera side, the device carries a 50-megapixel main rear camera paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor, plus an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies.
The phone also has an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance and uses a glass fiber-reinforced polymer back panel for added durability. It measures 8.2 mm thick and weighs 199 g.
Entry-level AI features
Despite its price segment, the Galaxy A07 5G integrates AI tools including Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google. Gemini can be activated via the side key and supports natural speech interactions, while Circle to Search allows users to search images, text or music directly from the screen.
The device ships with One UI 8.0 and is promised six generations of Android OS upgrades along with six years of security updates. It also includes Samsung Knox Vault for hardware-based data protection.
In the Philippines, the Galaxy A07 5G is priced at P8,290 for the 64 GB variant and P9,990 for the 128 GB version.
Next AI flagship incoming
While the A07 5G addresses the entry-level market, Samsung is positioning its upcoming Galaxy S series as a more advanced AI smartphone.
The company said the new Galaxy S series is built to simplify everyday interactions and make Galaxy AI more seamlessly integrated into the device experience. Galaxy Unpacked will mark what Samsung describes as a new phase in AI becoming more personal and adaptive.
Samsung is also offering an exclusive e-voucher promo ahead of the Feb. 26 event for customers who register online, valid on select Galaxy ecosystem products.
With the Galaxy A07 5G anchoring the budget segment and the next Galaxy S series set to showcase deeper AI integration, Samsung is pushing AI features across both entry-level and flagship tiers in 2026.
