PLDT Inc. said Friday it is maintaining uninterrupted telecommunications and digital services nationwide as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East raise concerns over potential infrastructure and supply chain disruptions.

The assurance comes as global risks linked to energy supply, logistics, and network dependencies continue to be monitored by operators, including PLDT, one of the Philippines’ largest telecom providers.

“We would like to ease the worries of our customers about the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and how it may affect our services,” said Menardo G. Jimenez, chief operating officer of PLDT. “Rest assured that we will continue to proactively safeguard our network infrastructure and service delivery capabilities, while upholding the well-being of our people. At a time when staying connected is crucial, you can count on us at PLDT Group to keep you, your families and your businesses online.”

Jimenez said the company has activated business continuity protocols aimed at sustaining network operations and protecting critical services. These include built-in redundancies across its network architecture to minimize the impact of external disruptions, along with 24/7 monitoring by operations teams to detect and address service issues.

PLDT also cited supply chain diversification as part of its risk mitigation strategy, noting that partnerships with multiple suppliers and logistics providers help ensure the availability of equipment and services under varying conditions.

“Our strong relationships with multiple suppliers and logistics partners also ensure that critical materials, equipment and services remain available under various conditions,” Jimenez said.

The company added it has adequate fuel reserves to keep key facilities and network sites operational in the event of power interruptions. It also said personnel are trained to maintain operations under evolving risk scenarios.

PLDT said it continues to track global and domestic developments that may affect telecommunications infrastructure, particularly as the Middle East conflict raises concerns over energy stability and international connectivity.

The measures also support ongoing efforts to provide communication access for overseas Filipino workers and their families affected by the crisis.
