Personal use of artificial intelligence (AI) is driving growing trust and confidence in workplace adoption among Filipino knowledge workers, according to new survey data released at the Agentforce World Tour Manila 2026.

The study, conducted by YouGov and commissioned by Salesforce, surveyed 1,057 knowledge workers in the Philippines and found that 68% said their personal use of AI increased their trust in using AI tools at work. About 70% also reported higher confidence in workplace AI use, with the effect strongest among Gen Z respondents at 74%.

The findings indicate that bottom-up adoption — driven by individual experimentation rather than corporate mandates — is shaping how workers perceive AI in professional settings.

Despite this growing acceptance, the survey highlighted a widening skills and training gap that could limit enterprise adoption. Nearly half (48%) of respondents said they need a better understanding of the skills required for the AI era. Only 34% reported receiving training on AI tools from their employers, while 31% said their companies invest in knowledge-sharing initiatives. Just 22% said leadership actively models AI use.

Most respondents expect AI to become a core part of their work. Only 3% said they do not expect to use AI agents, while more than half (56%) already use them to improve productivity or creativity. Overall, 76% said they have interacted with or are using AI tools at work.

However, limited training and access to enterprise-grade tools may increase risks tied to “shadow AI,” or the use of unapproved systems outside organizational oversight. This can expose sensitive data and introduce inaccuracies, particularly when employees lack skills such as prompt engineering or output verification.

“The growing trust in AI across the Philippines is being driven from the bottom up, with personal curiosity currently outpacing corporate strategy,” said Abraham Cuevas, country general manager of Salesforce Philippines. “However, individual use alone doesn’t translate into enterprise-scale impact.”

The study also found that 45% of workers expect to use AI to both automate and augment tasks, while 26% see human-AI collaboration as a critical future skill. Workers identified access to high-quality tools (46%), clarity on required skills (48%), and transparency in AI decision-making (43%) as key factors in building confidence.

Consumer expectations are also shifting alongside increased AI familiarity. About 46% of respondents said they now expect faster and more efficient services, while 41% expect greater accuracy and fewer errors. A similar proportion expect more innovative solutions from businesses.

The findings come as the Philippine government plans to invest P2.6 billion in AI initiatives through 2028, with projected productivity gains reaching P2.8 trillion.

The survey was presented during the Agentforce World Tour in Manila, where Salesforce showcased its AI platform designed to integrate data, applications and automated agents across enterprise workflows. Local companies, including AXA Philippines, Ayala Land and PLDT Inc., shared their digital transformation initiatives at the event.
