GADGETS | Smart subscribers get early access to Galaxy S26 in PH
Smart said the rollout is part of efforts to bundle devices with connectivity services.
Smart Postpaid subscribers were among the first in the Philippines to access the Samsung Galaxy S26 Series during an early release event held March 6 at the Smart Store in SM Megamall.
The event brought together early adopters and subscribers ahead of the device’s official market launch, offering hands-on access to Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones.
From March 27, Smart launched a trade-in program for Postpaid and Infinity subscribers, allowing customers to exchange existing devices for discounts of up to 45% on new Galaxy S26 units at select Smart Stores.
At the event, attendees tested features powered by Galaxy AI, including image recognition, zoom-based photography, and AI-assisted photo editing tools such as Generative Edit and Photo Assist. Demonstrations also showed low-light video capture and automated image enhancements.
“Our partnership has always been about uplifting the Filipino spirit by keeping people connected to what matters most,” said Rhomel Marcojos, head of operator business, Samsung Philippines.
“With the Samsung Galaxy S26 Series on Smart Postpaid, we’re introducing more than just a smartphone—it’s an AI phone designed for a generation that creates, shares, and lives in real time.”
Marcojos said the new series includes “Everyday AI” for routine tasks and “Agentic AI” designed to respond to context and automate actions.
Smart Postpaid head Niki Flojo said the rollout is part of efforts to bundle devices with connectivity services.
“Moments like this reflect what we aim to do at Smart—bringing the latest innovations closer to our subscribers,” Flojo said.
“With Smart 5G, subscribers get the fast and reliable connectivity needed to fully enjoy AI-powered features—from streaming and sharing to cloud-based tools and real-time experiences.”
The Galaxy S26 Ultra was highlighted during the event, with early buyers receiving units ahead of public release. Smart said 26 customers who preordered the device won Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 in a raffle.

“I rely heavily on my phone for my sales presentations, so I’m excited to make the most of every upgraded feature—from the hardware and camera to Galaxy AI,” said Katya Casco.
Smart Infinity members also received early access through a private preview event held the same day in Makati City, where the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra were showcased.
