TECH NEWS | Dataiku launches open-source tool for AI agent explainability
The framework aims to address challenges in understanding how AI systems generate outputs, a concern for organizations deploying AI in regulated and high-risk environments.

Dataiku has introduced an open-source framework designed to improve transparency and governance in enterprise artificial intelligence systems, particularly those using AI agents.
The company announced Kiji Inspector, a tool that provides explainability for AI-driven decisions, as part of its integration with NVIDIA Nemotron open models.
The framework aims to address challenges in understanding how AI systems generate outputs, a concern for organizations deploying AI in regulated and high-risk environments. Dataiku said the tool enables enterprises to track, validate and interpret decision-making processes within AI agents.
Kiji Inspector uses a sparse autoencoder to analyze how models select actions, translating internal signals into explanations that can be reviewed by teams without affecting system performance.
The release reflects growing demand for explainable AI as organizations expand the use of autonomous systems in areas such as operations, compliance and customer-facing services.
Dataiku said the tool is designed to work with NVIDIA’s Nemotron models, which support enterprise-level AI workloads. The integration allows organizations to combine model performance with visibility into how decisions are made.
“Enterprises are embedding AI agents into decisions that influence revenue, safety, compliance, and customer trust, yet most still lack structural visibility into how those systems reason,” said Hannes Hapke, director of 575 Lab at Dataiku.
Industry stakeholders said explainability is becoming critical as AI systems move from experimental use to core business infrastructure, particularly in sectors requiring auditability and regulatory compliance.
Dataiku said Kiji Inspector is now available for organizations deploying AI agents using NVIDIA Nemotron models.
