Hitachi Vantara has announced the availability of its Virtual Storage Platform One Software-Defined Storage (VSP One SDS) on the Google Cloud Marketplace, expanding hybrid cloud data management capabilities for enterprise customers.

The move brings key enterprise features—such as two-way asynchronous replication, thin provisioning, and data compression—to public cloud environments. These capabilities aim to simplify hybrid cloud operations, improve disaster recovery, and cut cloud storage costs by up to 40%.

As companies increasingly adopt multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, demand for centralized visibility and streamlined operations is rising. A 2025 industry report found that 80% of organizations now use multiple public clouds, and 60% operate several private cloud environments.

By integrating VSP One SDS with Google Cloud, customers can manage storage across cloud and on-premises platforms through a single interface without the need for re-architecting. The new replication capability enables sites to act as both source and target, enhancing resiliency and business continuity during outages.

“Bringing VSP One to Google Cloud Marketplace will help customers quickly deploy, manage and grow the data management solution on Google Cloud’s trusted, global infrastructure,” said Dai Vu, managing director at Google Cloud.

Hitachi Vantara said VSP One is designed for high availability with a target uptime of 99.999%, reducing operational risk and supporting native migrations between environments. Octavian Tanase, chief product officer at Hitachi Vantara, added that the expanded offering gives customers “freedom to choose the right cloud for every workload.”

The release also opens new opportunities for Hitachi Vantara’s channel partners, enabling them to support clients’ cloud strategies with a software-defined approach that emphasizes resiliency, data protection, and sustainability.

This expansion follows the recent launch of VSP 360, a unified platform that streamlines the VSP One user experience and provides greater visibility into data and infrastructure.
