BUSINESS TECH | Bentley, Enactus name 2025 iTwin4Good challenge winner
The top prize went to SiTESalvage, a team from the UK and Ireland, for developing a platform and marketplace that repurposes construction and demolition materials.

Bentley Systems and global nonprofit Enactus have announced the winners of the 2025 iTwin4Good Challenge, a student competition showcasing digital twin technology for sustainable infrastructure.
The top prize went to SiTESalvage, a team from the UK and Ireland, for developing a platform and marketplace that repurposes construction and demolition materials. Using Bentley’s iTwin technology, the team created a system to identify, plan for, and reuse resources from demolition projects, aiming to cut down on the industry’s waste footprint.
Germany’s Basola finished as runner-up with a solar-powered pyrolysis reactor that transforms discarded plastics into usable fuel. The system integrates iTwin technology and IoT sensors to track reactor performance and improve safety.
Canada’s EcoTwins placed second runner-up with a framework to repurpose abandoned gold mines as sites for renewable energy projects, combining digital modeling with environmental and social considerations.
“At Bentley, we are inspired by how this year’s student teams applied digital twin technology and innovative thinking to real-world challenges,” said Chris Bradshaw, chief sustainability and education officer at Bentley Systems.
George Tsiatis, president and CEO of Enactus Global and the Resolution Project, said the competition shows how young leaders are using technology to tackle waste, energy, and sustainability challenges.
The winning SiTESalvage team will advance to the Enactus World Cup 2025 in Bangkok.
