A regional telecommunications infrastructure operator said it has reached 16,000 operational sites across Southeast Asia as it marked its fifth year in the sector, underscoring continuing demand for mobile connectivity in Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia.

EdgePoint, an independent telecommunications tower and digital infrastructure company, said the milestone site was built in Sumatera as part of its expansion in Indonesia, which now accounts for 11,080 active locations. It operates 3,025 sites in the Philippines and 1,900 in Malaysia.

Executives said the footprint reflects steady network investment by mobile operators and rising demand for shared digital infrastructure across the region.

“Our three markets are each at different stages of growth, but they share a common focus where governments and businesses are prioritizing investments in digital connectivity,” CEO Suresh Sidhu said. “Reaching the 16,000-site milestone in five years is a reflection of this regional momentum.”

Sidhu added that the regional tenant base has grown to nearly 26,000 colocations across the company’s towers, which he said signals strong adoption of shared infrastructure. “This success also reflects the support of our shareholders and the dedication of our people,” he said.

In the Philippines, executives said the company continues to expand to support the country’s 5G rollout and improve broadband reach, particularly in Luzon.

“This milestone reflects the dedication of our teams and the partnerships we have built locally,” said William Walters, CEO for the Philippine operations. He said the company maintains network availability above 99.99% and expects further expansion as operators strengthen coverage to meet connectivity needs nationwide.

Walters added that the group will “continue to focus on growing our national footprint and reinforcing our position as a trusted partner in the country’s journey toward a fully connected economy.”

The company said it expects continued digital infrastructure investment in ASEAN as the region increases adoption of cloud services and AI-powered applications. Executives said robust and sustainable tower infrastructure will be essential to support the next phase of data growth.

The group also cited its corporate philanthropy programs, saying outreach initiatives in schools have supported more than 7,500 children across its operating markets.
