GADGETS | vivo V70, X300 Ultra highlight mobile imaging push

Smartphone maker vivo is expanding its imaging-focused lineup with the launch of the vivo V70 in the Philippines and the preview of its flagship X300 Ultra at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona.
The company unveiled the V70 during a launch event at SM North EDSA in Quezon City, where actress Marian Rivera joined the presentation alongside executives and photography experts. At the same time, vivo showcased the upcoming X300 Ultra globally at the annual mobile industry event in Spain.
The two devices highlight the company’s push toward advanced smartphone photography, combining high-resolution sensors, telephoto technology and AI-assisted imaging tools.

Portrait-focused V70 debuts in Philippines
The vivo V70 features a multi-camera system developed with ZEISS, led by a 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera with optical image stabilization and a 1/1.95-inch sensor. The periscope design enables long-range photography, supported by an AI-powered Stage Mode capable of zooming up to 20x.
Other cameras include a 50MP ZEISS OIS main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP ZEISS group selfie camera with autofocus.
Actress Marian Rivera, who attended the launch event, said the device’s telephoto capabilities stand out for capturing distant subjects.
“Super happy ako na andito ako ngayon at na-witness ang launch ng bagong vivo V70! Lalo na’t may collab pa sila with POP MART,” Rivera said.
She added: “One of my favorite features of the vivo V70 is the 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera for close-up details. Yung Stage Mode na umaabot hanggang 20 times yung zoom for distant portrait shots ko, and AI Magic Weather makes my photos pop no matter what the weather is.”
Photography features also include ZEISS multifocal portrait effects such as 85mm Sonnar Style Bokeh and 100mm Planar Style Bokeh. The device supports 4K 60 fps video recording and AI Audio Noise Eraser for clearer sound during recordings.
The smartphone runs on OriginOS 6 and is equipped with a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It uses an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy frame and carries IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings.
Power comes from a 6,500mAh BlueVolt battery paired with 90W FlashCharge.
AI-powered editing tools are also integrated into the device. These include AI Magic Weather, AI Magic Landscape and AI Retouch features such as AI Erase, AI Magic Move and AI Image Expander.

The vivo V70 is priced at:
8GB + 256GB – P31,999
12GB + 256GB – P35,999
12GB + 512GB – P39,999
Pre-orders run until March 13, with buyers offered discounts and limited-edition accessories including a POP MART ZSIGA phone strap.
Creative collaboration with POP MART
The V70 launch also introduced a collaboration with POP MART’s Zsiga “Under The Sun” collectible series.
POP MART APAC Head of Brand Partnerships and Activation Kevin Zhang said the partnership was designed around shared creative ideas.
“This is a very meaningful and sincerely authentic collaboration. For this particular partnership, we believe we really coincide with the vivo team from the design philosophy level and also the creativity level,” Zhang said.
He added that the Zsiga character reflects themes of exploration and self-expression that align with the V70’s creative photography focus.

X300 Ultra highlights long-range smartphone imaging
At Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, vivo also previewed the upcoming X300 Ultra flagship smartphone.
The device introduces a 400mm equivalent telephoto extender developed with ZEISS, designed to expand the reach of mobile photography.
The lens system supports up to 200MP optical output and allows images to be digitally cropped to a 1600mm focal length while maintaining high image quality. The camera system also uses gimbal-grade optical image stabilization and motion-tracking focus technology for improved stability during long-range shooting.
Alongside the smartphone, vivo introduced a pro-grade Camera Cage accessory designed for video creators. The cage includes dual-hand grips, multiple cold shoe mounts for accessories and dedicated buttons for shutter and zoom control.
An integrated cooling fan is intended to sustain performance during long recording sessions, while an external lens expansion frame supports compatibility with the telephoto extender.
The X300 Ultra will launch in global markets later this year as vivo expands its premium imaging smartphone lineup beyond select regions.
