Google Cloud and Salesforce announced an expanded partnership aimed at enabling AI agents to execute workflows across both companies’ platforms, allowing businesses to automate tasks and reduce data fragmentation in enterprise operations.

The companies said the collaboration integrates Salesforce’s Agentforce platform with Google Cloud services, including Gemini Enterprise and Google Workspace, to support AI-driven workflows across applications such as Slack, Docs, Sheets and BigQuery.

The partnership seeks to address productivity issues caused by disconnected systems and manual switching between workplace tools. According to the companies, the integration allows AI agents to access data across platforms without requiring large-scale data transfers.

“Businesses are ready to go all in on agentic AI, and that requires infrastructure and models that can operate across the entire enterprise,” said Srini Tallapragada, president and chief engineering officer at Salesforce.

Among the announced features is the integration of Slack with Google Workspace, enabling users to generate files such as presentations, documents and spreadsheets directly from Slack conversations. Gemini Enterprise will also be accessible within Slack to summarize information from multiple applications, including Google Meet and Slack threads.

Salesforce said Agentforce Sales agents will also work within Gemini Enterprise to automate tasks such as lead engagement, CRM updates and sales pipeline management.

The companies are also expanding support for what they described as “zero copy” data access, allowing AI systems to work with enterprise data stored in Google Lakehouse and BigQuery without moving or duplicating datasets. The integration is intended to reduce security risks and improve data governance for enterprise customers.

Google Cloud Chief Product and Business Officer Karthik Narain said the partnership would help customers securely connect data across both platforms and support AI deployments at enterprise scale.

Several companies, including Wayfair, Pepkor and Bionic, were cited by Salesforce and Google Cloud as early adopters of the expanded AI capabilities.

The companies said the expanded partnership is part of a broader push toward “agentic AI,” where AI agents can independently execute tasks and workflows across enterprise systems.
