MWC Shanghai 2026 | ZTE unveils AI infrastructure, operating system at tech event
During the event, ZTE showcased a full-stack AI ecosystem designed to improve the efficiency of AI model deployment while reducing the cost of AI inference.
ZTE Corp. introduced new artificial intelligence infrastructure and software platforms at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2026 as the company expanded its AI portfolio for telecommunications operators and enterprise customers.
During the event, ZTE showcased a full-stack AI ecosystem designed to improve the efficiency of AI model deployment while reducing the cost of AI inference. The company said its offerings combine AI computing infrastructure, optimized inference systems, and energy-efficient AI data center technologies to support growing demand for large-scale AI applications.
Among the products introduced was SuperPod, an integrated AI computing platform that ZTE said is designed to improve token-processing efficiency while lowering the cost per token. The company also highlighted its AI Data Center (AIDC) technology, which focuses on reducing energy consumption in AI workloads.
ZTE also launched NewStart AIOS, an AI operating system that the company described as a foundational platform for AI applications. According to ZTE, the operating system is intended to provide a unified software layer for AI infrastructure, applications, and services.
The announcements reflect increasing competition among telecommunications equipment vendors to provide AI infrastructure that supports generative AI, large language models, and enterprise AI deployments while addressing rising computing and energy costs.
MWC Shanghai 2026 brings together mobile network operators, equipment manufacturers, cloud providers, and technology companies to showcase developments in 5G, AI, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure.
