GADGETS | Zyxel expands outdoor WiFi 6 access point lineup
The company unveiled the NWA55AX PRO outdoor access point and the NWA55AX PTP point-to-point wireless bridge, both designed to provide wireless coverage in outdoor, industrial, and semi-industrial environments.
Businesses and managed service providers (MSPs) seeking to extend wireless connectivity beyond indoor spaces have two new options after Zyxel Networks expanded its outdoor networking portfolio with two WiFi 6 access point solutions.
The company unveiled the NWA55AX PRO outdoor access point and the NWA55AX PTP point-to-point wireless bridge, both designed to provide wireless coverage in outdoor, industrial, and semi-industrial environments. The products also target hospitality venues, educational campuses, public spaces, and residential deployments that require connectivity over longer distances.
The NWA55AX PRO is an outdoor WiFi 6 access point that supports AX3000 wireless speeds and features an IP55-rated enclosure for protection against dust and water. The device is intended for extending wireless coverage in locations such as business premises, campuses, industrial facilities, and home offices located beyond the main network.
The NWA55AX PTP is a pre-paired point-to-point wireless solution capable of creating network links of up to 5 kilometers without additional configuration. Zyxel said the device is suited for connecting separate buildings and providing connectivity across large outdoor sites, including schools, stadiums, resorts, railway stations, airports, and event venues.
Both products support management through Zyxel Networks’ Nebula cloud platform, enabling remote deployment, monitoring, and performance management for IT administrators and MSPs.
Gary Chen, Southeast Asia regional head at Zyxel Networks, said demand for reliable outdoor wireless connectivity continues to grow as organizations expand network coverage beyond office buildings.
