Taiwan-based networking equipment maker Zyxel Networks has introduced two WiFi 7 access points designed for small businesses and home offices seeking faster wireless connectivity and centralized network management.

The NWA50BE MAX and NWA90BE MAX feature tri-band, triple-radio technology operating across the 2.4-gigahertz, 5-GHz and 6-GHz bands, with a combined theoretical throughput of up to 9.3 gigabits per second, according to the company.

The devices are designed to accommodate networks supporting point-of-sale terminals, customer devices and Internet of Things equipment, which can compete for bandwidth in small-business environments.

Both models support Zyxel Networks’ Nebula cloud platform, which provides remote configuration, real-time monitoring and centralized management. Businesses can access essential management features for free and upgrade to advanced offerings as their networks expand.

The access points also support Smart Mesh Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which enables wireless links between access points across all three bands. The feature is intended to help extend coverage in locations where installing additional network cabling is impractical.

The NWA90BE MAX offers captive portal functions for guest WiFi access and branded login pages. Both models support IEEE 802.1X and Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS), which can help separate and control employee and guest network access.

Zyxel said the devices have a maximum power draw of 15 watts and can consume up to 38 percent less power than comparable tri-band WiFi 7 access points, based on published maximum power figures for competing products.

The company will offer both models with or without a power adapter. The adapter-free option is intended for businesses that already have compatible USB-C or Power over Ethernet power sources.

“WiFi 7 is moving beyond high-end deployments, but smaller businesses still need to balance performance with the cost and effort of upgrading,” said Gary Chen, Zyxel Networks’ head of emerging markets.

The NWA50BE MAX will be sold exclusively through e-commerce channels, while the NWA90BE MAX will be available through Zyxel Networks’ channel partners. The company did not specify pricing or Philippine availability in the supplied announcement.
