TELECOM | PLDT Global revenue rises 30% as demand for international connectivity grows
The company, the international arm of PLDT, said the growth reflects rising demand for connectivity supporting cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI) applications and enterprise workloads across Asia.

PLDT Global reported a 30% year-on-year revenue increase in the first half of 2026, driven by demand for international bandwidth, subsea cable capacity and related infrastructure services from hyperscalers, international carriers and digital platforms.
The company, the international arm of PLDT, said the growth reflects rising demand for connectivity supporting cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI) applications and enterprise workloads across Asia.
The expansion of digital infrastructure across the region has increased requirements for network capacity, route diversity and resilience as businesses distribute their computing workloads across markets.
PLDT Global said it continues to expand its international infrastructure footprint through investments and partnerships, including leveraging PLDT’s participation in the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) subsea cable system. The system links key Asian economies and provides additional capacity and routing options.
Growing investments by hyperscalers, data center operators and network providers have also increased demand for international bandwidth, interconnection services and colocation facilities across Southeast Asia.
Albert V. Villa-Real, president and CEO of PLDT Global, said the company would continue investing in infrastructure and strengthening partnerships to meet changing connectivity requirements.
“The continued expansion of cloud services, AI applications, and digital platforms is increasing the need for reliable international connectivity,” Villa-Real said. “We remain focused on investing in infrastructure and strengthening partnerships that help address these requirements while supporting our customers’ digital transformation initiatives across markets.”
The revenue increase came alongside growth at PLDT Enterprise, which generated P24.8 billion in revenue during the first half of 2026. Corporate data and information and communications technology services accounted for P18.4 billion, reflecting business investments in cloud services, cybersecurity, managed services and digital transformation, according to the release.
Within the PLDT group, PLDT Global provides international connectivity services linking Philippine businesses with customers, partners and digital platforms overseas. Its services complement the group’s investments in data centers, cloud services, managed information and communications technology solutions, and cybersecurity.
The expansion of AI and cloud computing is increasing the need for infrastructure that can move data reliably across borders. For telecommunications providers, this creates demand for additional international capacity and diverse network routes as enterprises and digital platforms operate across multiple markets.
PLDT Global said it would continue developing its international connectivity capabilities as demand for digital services grows across the region.
