PLDT has received a Silver Award at the 2026 UiPath AI Breakthrough Awards for deploying artificial intelligence agents across enterprise sales, risk management and lead generation, the companies announced Oct. 5.

The award recognizes PLDT’s use of in-house AI agents built with UiPath’s Agent Builder, Integration Service and Robots. The systems are designed to reduce manual work and support employees in sales and other business functions.

In enterprise sales, PLDT’s Ellie (Enablement & Intelligence Engine) integrates enterprise knowledge and live customer relationship management data to help sales teams generate proposals and presentations.

The company said Ellie has helped reclaim an estimated 18,000 to 25,000 hours of work annually. Sales teams have also reported a 40% to 60% reduction in time spent developing standard proposal and presentation materials, while proposal error rates declined by 40% to 50%. PLDT also reported a 20% to 50% increase in upsell rates.

PLDT is also using KAI (Knowledge, Automation, Intelligence) to automate knowledge retrieval. The AI assistant provides contextual responses in one to three seconds, compared with a manual research process that could take up to five days.

According to PLDT, KAI reduces an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 hours of manual effort annually and creates approximately 12 full-time-equivalent annual productivity capacity. The company also reported a 99% faster response rate.

Another system, ERICA (Enterprise Risk Intelligence Companion Agent), automates structured risk statements and scoring against compliance standards. PLDT said ERICA has reduced manual effort by 97% to 99%, cutting risk assessments from two to 10 days to between five minutes and one day.

Gilbert Gaw, PLDT and Smart first vice president and head of the IT and Transformation Office, said the award recognizes the work behind the company’s AI initiatives.

“Technology is at the heart of how PLDT serves our customers and supports the country’s growing digital needs,” Gaw said. “This recognition is a proud moment for PLDT and a testament to the passion our teams have channeled into building Ellie, KAI, and ERICA.”

Karl Crowther, area vice president for Middle East & Africa and South Asia at UiPath, said PLDT’s deployment demonstrates how AI agents can be combined with business orchestration to change enterprise workflows.

“By combining the power of AI agents with UiPath’s agentic business orchestration capabilities, PLDT is fundamentally changing how work gets done, freeing their people to focus on higher-value opportunities and setting a new benchmark for intelligent, connected operations,” Crowther said.
