MAKATI CITY, PHILIPPINES — The company that brought the world the full screen concept has upped the ante once again with the introduction of the stunning new Mi MIX 3.

Available in Jade Green, Sapphire Blue, Onyx Black, and a Palace Museum Edition, the successor to the Mi MIX title has already forged itself a reputation at the forefront of not just technology lovers, but art aficionados the world over.

From its very inception, the Philippe Starck-designed Mi MIX series put forward a design that the global art scene could not ignore. The Mi MIX Series has been included in the collections of prestigious institutions such as the Design Museum in Finland, Centre Pompidou in France, and the Die Neue Sammlung, the Design Museum in Germany.

“The Mi MIX series arguably led the revolution of full screen display smartphones being launched around the world now. Xiaomi was the first smartphone brand to achieve full screen displays with almost imperceptible bezels when it launched the Mi MIX concept phone in 2016. The following year, Xiaomi lit the world’s imagination when it made full screen displays available to consumers with the Mi MIX 2, designed with an 18:9 aspect ratio to make on-screen content more immersive,” said John Chen, Xiaomi director for Southeast Asia.

Aside from being a masterpiece, the Mi MIX 3 also comes with Xiaomi’s most powerful smartphone camera set-up to date. It features a 24MP + 2MP front module with a Sony IMX576 main sensor using Super Pixel technology and a 12MP + 12MP rear dual camera, with features such as a steady handheld night photography mode, hardware multi-frame noise reduction, 4-axis OIS, AI light metering, AI image stabilization and calibration. In addition, the secondary 2M sensor in front captures depth information to facilitate an AI bokeh effect, while the rear dual camera also features 4K video recording and 960 fps slow-motion video capture.

With these enhancements, Mi MIX 3 achieved a DxOMark photo score of 108, ranking among the world’s best smartphones for photography.

Mi MIX 3 is the latest example of Xiaomi’s dream to advance technology and art to new frontiers of possibility that will eventually enable more people to enjoy better lives. This dream was started in 2010 by 13 friends, including one of China’s most celebrated tech entrepreneurs, Lei Jun. Even though it is only eight years old this year, Xiaomi has already become the world’s fourth largest smartphone manufacturer. Its performance and potential allowed it to enjoy a strong global response when it listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange earlier this year. It is seen to build on this success with its shipment of smartphones exceeding 100 million units by the end of October, 2018, successfully reaching the full-year target two months ahead of schedule. According to Counterpoint’s latest research, Xiaomi continues to maintain impressive growth rates of up to 25% for Q3/2018 (over Q3/2017), which is a very rare achievement in the current global market.

Mi MIX 3 hit shelves across the Chinese mainland on 1 November 2018 through online and offline channels. Availability and prices in the Philippines will be announced closer to the local launch date.
