PLDT’s Enterprise business logs its highest quarterly performance to date in the third quarter of the year. The B2B arm of the country’s largest integrated telco remains to be a critical partner among industries, enabling the nation’s digital pivot towards economic growth, and supporting the digital transformation needs of its business customers.

“Enterprise seems to be our bright spot as we continue to empower businesses in their digital transformation and help promote the Philippines to be the next major ASEAN digital hub. Our 11th and, by far, the largest data center is also on track to be completed in late 2023,” PLDT and Smart Communications president and chief Alfredo S. Panlilio disclosed in PLDT’s 9M 2022 press release.

On the back of a strong resurgence of business activity post-COVID lockdowns, PLDT Enterprise reported record-high revenues of P12 billion in the third quarter, up 8% from the same period last year, boosting revenues in this segment to P35.2 billion in the first nine months of the year, up 9% or P2.8 billion, year-on-year.

“One of the five pillars that we’re aiming for as part of our transformation is to continue our push on empowering customers and provide digital platforms in their journey of engaging with PLDT and Smart. Customer-centricity or customer obsession will be something that we would want to operate excellently in, get better productivity, and lower our cost to serve,” Panlilio said during the Group’s 9M earnings briefing.

Supporting enterprise customers in their transformation programs, PLDT Enterprise’s growth momentum was sustained by Fixed Data and fiber broadband, Managed Networking Services, Wireless Solutions, Data Center, and Cloud gains.

Despite the impact of natural disasters that affected business operations of its customers, the resilience of PLDT’s network in the face of calamities like typhoons, along with improving operational efficiency gains on installs and repairs, also helped maintain momentum.

Earlier, PLDT launched its integrated operations center which will boost the telco’s capacity to serve customers and maintain excellent customer experience through better monitoring. It also improves the pace to address issues affecting its network, both on its domestic fiber cable and growing international subsea cable systems.

PLDT has over 1.09 Million kilometers of domestic and international fiber optic cables coursing through and out of the country – the most extensive among all local telco operators. With the Jupiter Cable system, PLDT now forms part of 17 international cable consortiums with the addition of the Asia Direct Cable by end-2023 and Apricot by 2024.
