TELECOM | PLDT Group, FadTech to provide Pinoy communities products, services
Under this deal, customers can access both digital and on-ground initiatives in Okinawa, Nagasaki, Yamaguchi, Shizuoka, Kanagawa, Tokyo, and Aomori in Japan.
Underscoring the PLDT Group’s focus of connecting Filipinos everywhere, PLDT Global Corporation (PGC) has teamed up with Japan-based FadTech Telecom to provide Filipino communities in Japan with access to Filipino-centric products and services that could make them feel closer to home. PGC is the international arm of PLDT Inc., the Philippines’ largest fully integrated network.
Under this deal, customers can access both digital and on-ground initiatives in Okinawa, Nagasaki, Yamaguchi, Shizuoka, Kanagawa, Tokyo, and Aomori in Japan and conveniently top up their mobile phones, pay bills, and purchase electronic gifts to send to their families and loved ones in the Philippines.
“PLDT Global is a company that knows the Filipino. We are in the best position to bring the services of our partners closer to the overseas Filipino market,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, president and chief executive at PGC. “We are glad to have found like-minded companies such as Fadtech Telecom to achieve our goal of helping our modern heroes strengthen their connections with loved ones and support their families back home.”
Established in 1997 by founder and chairman Rose Liggayu-Raymundo, homegrown Filipino company FadTech Telecom specializes in offering satellite TV, cellphone, pocket wifi, and prepaid telecom services. They also offer affordable solutions designed for all Japan Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) personnel assigned in the US Air Force at Kadena and Yokota, US Naval Yokosuka and Sasebo, and US Marine Corps at Atsugi, Iwakuni and Camps Fuji and Foster.
“Our partnership with PLDT Global enables us to further our mission to transform the lives of our clients in Japan and the rest of the world by offering additional services to deliver the best quality products and services that they need,” said Miko Liggayu, Executive Vice president and chief executive at FadTech Telecom.
Bringing services closer to Filipinos overseas
In the second quarter of this year, PLDT Global launched its one-stop gateway, Tindahan ni Bossing (TINBO). Available via tinbo.ph, overseas Filipinos can easily access services for their connectivity and financial needs through Maya. They simply need to sign up for a TINBO number (Smart Virtual Number) that would serve as their virtual Philippine mobile number while outside the country.
A TINBO number enables users to receive calls and texts even without a physical SIM card and allows them to receive their secured One-Time Pin (OTP) for bills payment, e-government services, and other-related transactions. They can also purchase prepaid load for their mobile, Pay TV, and internet needs using the TINBO number. TINBO users can also access mWell subscription plans and services tailored for overseas Filipinos. Wherever they may be in the world, they can consult with doctors online 24/7 via mWell, the Philippines’ fastest growing health app.
