Geotab has launched a unified investigations solution designed to help fleet safety, compliance and operations teams resolve road incidents by bringing telematics data and supporting evidence into a single workflow.

Announced Aug. 12 in Singapore, Geotab Investigations is designed for incidents including collisions, customer or citizen complaints, property damage and safety violations.

Fleet investigations often involve operations teams, safety managers, insurance providers and legal teams. Geotab said these processes can be manual and fragmented, creating operational, legal, compliance and reputational risks.

“Across Asia Pacific, fleets are managing increasingly complex safety, compliance and operational requirements, making it critical to have accurate information available when an incident occurs. Geotab Investigations brings critical data together in one place, giving fleet managers a clearer picture of what happened and the insights they need to resolve incidents faster, support their drivers and make informed decisions,” said David Brown, associate vice president, sales, APAC at Geotab.

The solution uses existing telematics data to create a unified operational view. It allows users to search vehicle activity based on location and time, reconstruct incident timelines using trips, driver behavior, speed events and location data, and organize supporting materials such as notes, emails, reports, documents, photos and video alongside telematics records.

Users can also create structured cases with stages from open to closed, making incidents easier to track and audit. The resulting time-aligned records are intended to support operational decisions, insurance claims, compliance requirements and internal reviews.

Geotab said the centralized workflow can reduce manual effort and provide drivers with more accurate assessments of incidents by helping fleets establish what occurred and reduce the risk of incorrect blame.

Geotab said it serves more than 100,000 customers and connects approximately 6 million vehicles and assets, processing 100 billion data points daily.

The company also clarified that Geotab Investigations is not an evidence-preservation, legal-hold or custodial service. Customers remain responsible for preserving and producing data or evidence required for litigation or investigations, including legal-hold and chain-of-custody obligations.
