ESPORTS | Evo Singapore to host 2027 fighting game tournament
The inaugural Evo Singapore will feature Capcom’s Street Fighter 6, Bandai Namco Entertainment’s TEKKEN 8, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear -Strive- and Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
Singapore will host its first Evolution Championship Series (Evo) from Jan. 15-17, 2027, at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Center, with player registrations and tickets now open and a minimum guaranteed prize pool of $125,000 across five fighting games.
The inaugural Evo Singapore will feature Capcom’s Street Fighter 6, Bandai Namco Entertainment’s TEKKEN 8, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear -Strive- and Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
TEKKEN 8 will also serve as the Last Chance Qualifier for the TEKKEN World Tour (TWT) 2026 Global Finals, which will be held as part of the Singapore event.
The TWT Global Finals will begin with group stages on Jan. 14-15, followed by the Last Chance Qualifier on Jan. 16 and the final bracket on Jan. 17. The Global Finals will have a $300,000 prize pool.
“Singapore has a vibrant history with fighting games; including producing Evo champion Xian, former world tour qualifier events like Southeast Asia Major, and hosting offices for multiple fighting game publishers,” said Rick Thiher, general manager for Evo. “We’re excited for Evo and the TEKKEN World Tour 2026 Global Finals to be part of the Lion City’s ongoing legacy.”
Trip.com will serve as the official ticketing partner and exclusive ticketing platform for Evo Singapore and the TWT 2026 Global Finals. Fans can purchase standalone tickets or packages that include accommodations.
Tournament participants will register separately through start.gg. The tournament registration does not serve as admission to the event.
Beyond the competitions, Evo Singapore will feature an Evo Museum with a new History of TEKKEN World Tour exhibit, legacy-game flash tournaments, an Evo Friday Night Showdown presented by Visa, player and developer meet-and-greet sessions, casual gaming areas, an arcade zone and a cosplay exhibition.
The event will also include vendors and merchandise, as well as a Bring Your Own Community area where players can organize tournaments featuring games outside the official lineup.
Evo Singapore will be streamed globally through Twitch and YouTube, with coverage of the TWT Global Finals and daily coverage of Evo tournament play.
Established in 2002, Evo is an open-bracket fighting game tournament series owned and operated by RTS. The Singapore event will add to its existing events in the United States, Japan and France.
