TELECOM | Smart records zero dropped calls in NTC Metro Manila tests
The NTC drive tests found that Smart met the regulator’s prescribed call drop ratio threshold of below 2%.

Smart Communications Inc. recorded a zero-percent call drop ratio in the latest quality-of-service tests conducted by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in Metro Manila, while registering peak mobile broadband speeds of 377 Mbps in Mandaluyong City.
The NTC drive tests found that Smart met the regulator’s prescribed call drop ratio threshold of below 2%. The company recorded its peak broadband speed along San Francisco Street in Mandaluyong, according to the test results.
“Our zero-percent call drop ratio in the latest NTC tests is a positive result for voice-call reliability. We remain committed to working closely with the NTC to assess network performance, address areas for improvement, and deliver a more dependable mobile experience for our customers,” said Debbie Hu, first vice president and head of Network Build and Implementation at PLDT and Smart.
Smart also cited results from the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s September 2026 Oplan Bantay Signal report, a separate assessment of mobile network performance.
The report gave Smart an overall network performance score of 80.3 and an average download speed of 52.22 Mbps, maintaining its “Good” rating. It also recorded zero crisis cities nationwide for the fifth consecutive month, with all measured cities exceeding 15 Mbps.
Separately, Ookla recognized Smart for having the country’s Best Mobile Video Experience in the first half of 2026, with a Video Score of 72.82, the highest among Philippine mobile operators.
