BUSINESS NEWS | Zyxel leads in SMB cybersecurity
As part of its implementation, Zyxel Networks enabled multi-factor authentication (MFA) across all Nebula cloud-managed devices.

Zyxel Networks has reinforced its leadership in cybersecurity for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) by advancing its implementation of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure by Design initiative.
The Taiwan-based company was the first in the country and among the earliest globally in the SMB networking sector to adopt CISA’s pledge, which emphasizes integrating security at the product design stage.
“Our commitment to Secure by Design helps us protect our customers and partners in a fast-evolving threat landscape,” said Gary Chen, SEA regional head at Zyxel Networks. “Our approach is grounded in openness, honesty and long-term trust.”
As part of its implementation, Zyxel Networks enabled multi-factor authentication (MFA) across all Nebula cloud-managed devices. It was the first vendor globally to offer MFA for wireless access, including features for remote access point users and firewall management.
The company has also eliminated default passwords by requiring randomized, unique credentials at setup and enforces strong login practices through its cloud interface.
Zyxel adopted secure development practices such as OWASP Top 10 compliance, static code analysis, and third-party penetration testing to reduce vulnerabilities. It also ensures timely security patching, backed by its designation as a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA) since 2021.
Its vulnerability disclosure policy, public reporting channels, and transparency in security practices have earned it the highest CNA acceptance level among SMB networking brands.
Additionally, Zyxel’s cloud-managed products include up to 30 days of network logs, while its firewalls and routers store logs for up to 12 months. These records support incident response and audit readiness through its analytics platform, SecuReporter.
The company’s security measures reflect its broader push for safer digital infrastructure in the SMB segment, aligning with global cybersecurity best practices.
