The company introduced the GS8 HEV as its latest hybrid offering, alongside previews of the E8 HEV and the 2026 Emzoom.

GAC International Philippines Inc. launched a new hybrid SUV and previewed additional electrified models at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) in Pasay City on April 9, signaling a broader push into hybrid and electric mobility in the country.
The company introduced the GS8 HEV as its latest hybrid offering, alongside previews of the E8 HEV and the 2026 Emzoom. It also confirmed pricing for the GN8 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and displayed battery electric models Aion V and Hyptec HT at its exhibit.
“This MIAS 2026, we are thrilled to showcase GAC’s most advanced mobility solutions on the country’s biggest automotive stage for the Filipino people,” said Steven Wang, senior vice president of GAC International. “With the spectacular debut of the GS8 HEV and GN8 PHEV, we invite everyone to experience the cutting-edge difference firsthand, embodying our commitment to electrified performance and sustainable luxury.”

GS8 HEV leads hybrid push
The GS8 HEV is positioned as a midsize hybrid SUV combining performance and efficiency. It uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with a hybrid system based on Toyota Hybrid System II architecture, producing 140 kW and 320 Nm of torque.
The model features an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (E-CVT) and an all-wheel-drive system with selectable drive modes, including Eco, Comfort, Sport, and off-road settings.
Inside, the vehicle uses a 2-3-2 seating layout with power-adjustable front seats, a power-folding third row, and a panoramic sunroof. The cabin integrates a 14.6-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, along with a 10-speaker audio system.
Driver-assistance features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and a 540-degree surround-view camera system. The SUV also carries seven airbags and a high-strength steel body structure.

E8 HEV preview targets family segment
GAC also previewed the E8 HEV, a seven-seater hybrid MPV designed for family use. The model is rated for a combined driving range of up to 1,200 km.
The interior includes a 14.6-inch display and second-row seats with ventilation and massage functions. Cargo capacity reaches up to 1,917 liters. Advanced driver-assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, are included.
The company said pricing and full specifications will be announced at a later date.

GN8 PHEV, Emzoom, and EV lineup expand range
The GN8 PHEV, a seven-seater MPV, combines a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid system producing more than 240 horsepower with an estimated total range of up to 1,038 km and an electric-only range of up to 106 km. It supports fast charging, reaching 80 percent battery capacity in about 45 minutes.
The 2026 Emzoom subcompact crossover returns with updated styling and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. It also features driver-assistance systems and cargo capacity of up to 1,271 liters.
GAC’s battery electric vehicle lineup includes the Hyptec HT and Aion V. Both models offer driving ranges exceeding 600 km, with fast-charging capabilities designed to reduce downtime. The Hyptec HT is positioned as a premium electric SUV with advanced cabin features, while the Aion V is aimed at mainstream urban use.
Test drives, dealership expansion
GAC said MIAS attendees can test drive select models, including the M6 Pro, Emzoom, Aion V, and Emkoo Hybrid.
The company added it is expanding its local footprint with 30 dealerships nationwide and a parts warehouse in Manila to support after-sales service.
GAC Philippines offers a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty for internal combustion models, an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for electric vehicles, and two years of roadside assistance.
The automaker said its local operations are supported by global research and development and long-standing partnerships with Japanese manufacturers Toyota and Honda.
