SailPoint has introduced an artificial intelligence-powered migration methodology aimed at helping enterprises move legacy identity management systems to the cloud more quickly and with less manual work.

The Austin, Texas-based company announced June 16 the launch of SailPoint Agentic Acceleration, a new approach designed to automate key parts of the migration process from on-premises identity platforms, including SailPoint IdentityIQ and competing legacy systems, to SailPoint Identity Security Cloud.

According to SailPoint, the methodology uses its AI-based Virtual Architect tool to convert existing identity configurations, workflows, and policies into cloud-ready deployments. The company said the process is intended to reduce the time, cost, and operational risks typically associated with large-scale cloud modernization projects.

SailPoint said the Virtual Architect can analyze existing identity environments and generate a deployment-ready cloud foundation. The company added that customers can preview how applications, workflows, and provisioning processes would function in the cloud before beginning a migration.

“By automating the foundational heavy lifting, we are removing the primary barriers of time, cost, and risk that have slowed enterprise transformation efforts,” said Matt Mills, president of SailPoint.

The company said Agentic Acceleration can shorten migration projects that traditionally take months, although it did not provide specific deployment benchmarks.

SailPoint said the offering will be available at no additional cost for customers upgrading from IdentityIQ or other legacy identity platforms to Identity Security Cloud through its forward deployed engineering teams.

The company also said the methodology is intended to help its partner ecosystem accelerate customer migrations and focus on addressing security challenges associated with the growing use of AI agents and non-human identities in enterprise environments.

The announcement reflects a broader industry trend toward using artificial intelligence to automate cloud modernization and identity security operations as organizations continue to shift critical systems from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-based platforms.
