WAIC 2026 | Alibaba Cloud expands AI agent platform
The announcements centered on the company’s new Agent-Native Cloud suite, which adds AgentLoop and AgentTeams to the existing AgentRun platform.
Alibaba Cloud introduced new artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, software, and wearable devices at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026, expanding its enterprise AI portfolio with tools designed to help organizations build, deploy, and manage AI agents.
The announcements centered on the company’s new Agent-Native Cloud suite, which adds AgentLoop and AgentTeams to the existing AgentRun platform. Together, the products support enterprise AI agent development, deployment, governance, monitoring, and multi-agent orchestration. Alibaba Cloud also launched TokenWorks within its Platform for AI (PAI), integrating request routing, inference execution, compute reuse, and scheduling to improve the efficiency and reliability of large language model inference while lowering operational costs.
Alibaba’s semiconductor unit, T-Head, also open-sourced its AI software stack, T-Head SAIL, giving developers access to its computing framework. The software stack supports mainstream AI ecosystems and includes operating systems, software development kits (SDKs), interfaces, and developer tools. The company said cumulative shipments of its Zhenwu AI chips reached 560,000 units as of April 2026, serving more than 400 customers across over 20 industries.
The company also launched a team version of Meoo, its AI application development platform, adding enterprise features such as centralized billing, team management, shared assets, and credit allocation. Meoo enables users to build websites, applications, and WeChat mini-programs using natural language while automatically generating frontend, backend, and database components. Alibaba Cloud said the platform also offers off-peak pricing that reduces token costs during designated hours.
In consumer AI, Alibaba Cloud introduced Qwen Clip, its first Qwen-powered earbuds featuring an open-ear, clip-on design. The device integrates the Qwen AI assistant and supports real-time translation, meeting transcription, and health tracking. The earbuds were co-engineered with Bose. The company also previewed updated AI glasses that will support third-party AI agents and future capabilities such as full-duplex voice interaction, eye tracking, and biometric sensing.
Alibaba Cloud also previewed Qwen 3.8-Max-Preview, a 2.4-trillion-parameter AI model available through its Token Plan, Qoder, and QoderWork platforms. The company said the model will also be released as an open-weight model.
