TRAVEL | Emirates adds electric privacy screens to Premium Economy
Passengers can raise or lower the privacy divider using seat controls and lock it into position. The seats also feature an integrated Passenger Control Unit with settings including lounge and meal modes.

Air travelers on newly delivered Emirates Airbus A350 aircraft will get more control over personal space in Premium Economy, with the airline introducing electrically powered seats with full-height adjustable privacy screens.
The new seats are arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration with 28 seats in the A350 Premium Economy cabin. The seats are 20 inches wide, with a seat pitch of up to 39 inches, and recline into a cradle position without intruding into the row behind.
Passengers can raise or lower the privacy divider using seat controls and lock it into position. The seats also feature an integrated Passenger Control Unit with settings including lounge and meal modes.
The seats use the U-Dream headrest by Safran Seats, with adjustable leather wings for neck and head support. A manually deployable leather footrest is also provided.
Wireless charging is being introduced in Emirates Premium Economy for the first time. Each seat also has a USB-C port and a tray table with an integrated phone holder.
Passengers will have access to the airline’s ice inflight entertainment system through a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen. Newly delivered A350 aircraft will also have left and right exterior camera views in addition to existing forward and downward views.
The cabin’s food and beverage service includes regionally inspired meals served on Royal Doulton china, with linen napkins and stainless-steel Robert Welch cutlery. The airline also serves selected wines and beverages in Premium Economy.
From September, selected routes will offer Chablis Premier Cru Jean-Marc Brocard 2024 and La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2014. In October, Wiston Estate Brut NV will become Emirates’ first English sparkling wine, offered in Premium Economy on UK routes.
On long-haul flights, passengers also receive reusable amenity kits developed in partnership with United for Wildlife. The kits use bio-based materials and include Aveda skincare products, socks, eyeshades, earplugs and dental kits.
Emirates introduced Premium Economy in 2022 and said the cabin is now available across markets served by its A350 aircraft.
The airline said the new electrically powered seat with a full-height privacy screen is part of its continuing investment in its Premium Economy product.
