COMMUNITY | Smart powers 7-Eleven’s Christmas virtual run for a cause
Smart has teamed up with 7-Eleven to power the country’s largest Christmas virtual run for a cause.
Leading mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has teamed up with Philippine Seven Corp. (7-Eleven) to power the country’s largest Christmas virtual run for a cause.
On its eighth year, the 7-Eleven Run Series will go online for the first time. With over 40,000 participants, the 7-Eleven Christmas virtual run aims to promote health and goodwill despite the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Happening from November 30 – December 12, 2020, registered runners may complete their race distances from their chosen location – at home, on their treadmill, or in a regular jogging trail – and log their time on a designated website.
Aside from getting finisher kit and complimentary sponsors’ products, participants will also be able to help a community this Christmas by voting for their chosen local government unit that will receive gift pack donations from 7-Eleven.
“We are very excited to be a part of 7-Eleven’s historic virtual run for a cause. With everything going online because of the pandemic, our fastest LTE network will be able to serve the needs of our customers as they participate in this meaningful event,” said Precy P. Katigbak, first vice president and H=head, National Key Accounts at PLDT-Smart.
“This pandemic has indeed challenged us to think out of the box and look for ways to unite Filipinos for a cause. Together with Smart, we hope to inspire more Filipinos to stay healthy and, at the same time, celebrate the spirit of giving this season,” said Jose C. Ang, Jr., General Merchandise Head at Philippine Seven Corp.
