Singapore’s leading online integrated marketplace for designer sneakers, Ox Street, has named Ritesh Angural as head of product.

Bringing in a decade of work in launching startup products, Angural will oversee the product development and engineering team to deliver products from regional designers and to enhance shopping experience for sneaker lovers and fashion icons.

Previously, Angural was an engineer turned product manager at RedMart where he built the company’s e-commerce and logistics platform. Then, he started his own business venture and founded Rovo, a sports community app with half a million users in Southeast Asia and India.

The new officer will help build social communities and e-commerce products into Ox Street’s platform to support the company’s market expansion.

“These are exciting times for Ox Street and I am thrilled to be part of the company’s growth. There is no better time to grow as we are at a stage where we have an opportunity to scale up and deliver better customer experience. We have been developing our teams, and we have expanded the product and engineering team from two engineers to ten in less than two months. This will be in addition to the plans in the pipeline to grow the team throughout the year,” said Angural.

Chief excutive and founder of Ox Street Gijs Verheijke oversaw the fundraising, design, marketing, finance, and product management of the company prior to the acquisition. Still in its early startup stage, Ox Street’s mission remains focused on growth over integration.

Verheijke said the importance of building the right team is vital for the company’s success.

“Ox Street is investing heavily in the expansion of its services across the region, and we recognize that having the right talent in our core team is a key enabler for growth. Following our recent acquisition by Carousell Group, we are continuing to operate as an independent entity, where our roots as a startup gives us flexibility to grow and create the impact we want, all while building the culture to make this happen,” said Verheijke.

The team includes employees from Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam, widening Ox Street’s footprint and opening doors to new markets around the region.

In the coming months, Ox Street’s team will launch a new mobile app and add new features on the shopping platform, as well as deliver upcoming projects with Carousell Group.
