BUSINESS | STT GDC Philippines launches data center training program for Filipino talent

STT Telemedia Global Data Centres Philippines announced on April 29 the launch of DC Power-Up 2.0, a training and certification program aimed at preparing Filipino professionals for roles in the growing data center sector.

The program’s second run enrolled 27 participants, doubling the previous intake, and offered a three-day intensive course that includes access to the Data Centre Foundation Certificate (DCFC), an industry-recognized credential covering data center operations and infrastructure. All participants across both program runs passed the certification exam, with top graduates securing employment after completion.

The initiative comes as data center activity in the Philippines expands, increasing demand for skilled workers to support digital infrastructure.

DC Power-Up 2.0 is delivered in partnership with EPI Group, a global provider of data center training and certification. The collaboration aligns the curriculum with international standards and industry requirements.

STT GDC Philippines said the program is part of its broader workforce development efforts, including improving gender representation in technical fields. The latest cohort showed higher female participation compared with the initial intake.

The program has also been nominated for the DCD Holdings Workforce Initiative of the Year Award.

STT GDC Philippines operates five data centers in the country and is a joint venture involving the Globe Group, Ayala Corporation, and Singapore-based ST Telemedia Global Data Centres.
