GADGETS | AI conference cameras target large meeting spaces
Rally AI Camera and Rally AI Camera Pro, were designed for larger meeting environments where organizations require wider room coverage, automated participant framing and simpler deployment.
AI-enabled conference cameras for boardrooms, classrooms and large meeting spaces are set to arrive in September after Logitech introduced two new models that add automated video framing, multi-camera support and flexible installation options for enterprise collaboration. The announcement was made in Manila on July 14.
Logitech said the new products, Rally AI Camera and Rally AI Camera Pro, were designed for larger meeting environments where organizations require wider room coverage, automated participant framing and simpler deployment. The cameras will be available through authorized resellers beginning in September, although the company did not disclose pricing.
Among the new features is Logitech’s first in-wall mounting option, allowing the camera to be installed behind a wall surface for a less visible appearance. The cameras also support ceiling, wall and TV display mounting and include an automatic privacy shutter that indicates when the camera is inactive.
Both cameras use Logitech’s RightSight 2 technology to automatically switch between group framing, active speaker views and participant grid layouts during meetings. They also support multi-camera deployments with platforms such as Zoom Intelligent Director and Microsoft Teams multiple camera view, enabling different viewing angles in larger conference rooms.
Each model features a custom-designed lens with a 1-inch imaging sensor and a 115-degree field of view for wide-angle coverage and improved low-light performance. The Rally AI Camera Pro adds a second optical camera with up to 15x hybrid zoom for capturing presenters and presentation details in large venues.
Logitech said the cameras can also collect room occupancy and usage data through Logitech Sync, allowing organizations to monitor meeting space utilization and automate room booking based on actual occupancy. For IT administrators, the cameras support deployment over USB or a single category cable using an optional extension kit, with remote management available through Wi-Fi or Ethernet connections.
The company also said the cameras use low-carbon aluminum and packaging sourced from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources as part of its sustainability efforts. Rally AI Camera and Rally AI Camera Pro will be offered in graphite and off-white when they become available in September.
