MOBILITY | Toyota launches all-new Land Cruiser FJ in the Philippines
Built on a ladder-frame chassis, the Land Cruiser FJ features a double-wishbone front suspension and a four-link rear suspension.
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has started retail sales of the all-new Land Cruiser FJ, introducing a more compact addition to its Land Cruiser lineup for buyers seeking off-road capability in a vehicle suited for everyday driving.
The Land Cruiser FJ is available in two variants: the 2.7L TX A/T and the 2.7L VX A/T. Both are powered by a 2.7-liter 2TR-FE naturally aspirated gasoline engine that produces 166 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system that operates in rear-wheel drive during normal driving and can be switched to four-wheel drive when additional traction is needed.
Built on a ladder-frame chassis, the Land Cruiser FJ features a double-wishbone front suspension and a four-link rear suspension. Both variants also come standard with Active Traction Control (A-TRC) to improve traction on varying road and off-road conditions.
The SUV draws styling cues from earlier Land Cruiser models, including an upright profile, short overhangs, a wide stance, high ground clearance, a rear side-access cargo door, a rear-mounted spare tire, and squared body panels.
The Land Cruiser FJ measures 4,610 mm long and 1,855 mm wide, with a 2,580-mm wheelbase and 245 mm of ground clearance. The TX stands 1,890 mm tall, while the VX measures 1,950 mm in height.
The entry-level TX variant comes equipped with 17-inch steel wheels, LED lighting, a 9-inch infotainment display, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, synthetic leather seats with manual adjustment, a lever-type parking brake, and a rotary selector for four-wheel-drive modes.
The VX adds 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, side steps, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather shift knob, and a Panoramic View Monitor.
The higher-end variant also comes with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes a Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beam.
TMP said the Land Cruiser FJ expands the Land Cruiser lineup by offering a smaller SUV that combines the model’s established off-road capability with features designed for daily use.
