Asia United Bank (AUB) has partnered with global issuer-processor Paymentology to upgrade its digital payments infrastructure, supporting its HelloMoney e-wallet, mobile banking services, QR Ph capabilities and digital transfer networks.

Announced on Oct. 19 at Paymentology’s Issuer Academy Thailand Masterclass in Bangkok, the partnership will integrate Paymentology’s cloud-native issuing and real-time processing platform into AUB’s digital ecosystem.

HelloMoney, in partnership with Alipay+, enables users to make cross-border payments by scanning QR codes in 60 international destinations, including Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore, according to the announcement.

Wilfredo E. Rodriguez Jr., AUB executive vice president and head of IT and operations, said the partnership would support the bank’s digital transformation and the development of new payment products.

“Driving digital innovation is central to our mission of providing fast, secure and frictionless financial solutions,” Rodriguez said. He added that combining Paymentology’s technology with AUB’s understanding of the Philippine market would help accelerate the rollout of digital payment services.

Anna Porra, Paymentology chief revenue officer, said the partnership would help AUB develop payment services that can scale alongside changing customer needs.

The agreement comes as digital financial transactions continue to expand in the Philippines. According to data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas cited in the announcement, 62% of households conducted financial transactions online in 2025, up from 53% in 2024.

Rodriguez also joined a panel discussion at the Bangkok event titled “Beyond Access: Building Digital Finance People Can Trust,” which examined how financial institutions can build digital services around trust, usability and long-term customer relationships.
