TELECOM | PLDT Global targets overseas Filipinos with TinBo, Vortex platforms

PLDT Global is positioning its TinBo and Vortex platforms as digital tools for Philippine businesses seeking to expand their reach to overseas Filipinos, a market the company said continues to grow across multiple regions.
The company said overseas Filipinos have become an increasingly important consumer segment for local brands, driving demand for digital platforms that support cross-border commerce, communication, and engagement.
At the center of PLDT Global’s strategy are TinBo and Vortex, alongside its digital advertising management solutions. The platforms are designed to help Philippine companies connect with Filipinos abroad through online marketplaces, targeted campaigns, and digital distribution services.

TinBo serves as a digital marketplace that offers goods, digital vouchers, and services aimed at overseas Filipinos and their families in the Philippines. The platform also includes Smart Virtual Number, a cloud-based Philippine mobile number service that allows users abroad to access communication, authentication, and financial services remotely.
According to the company, TinBo currently serves more than 500,000 Filipinos in the Middle East, North America, Europe, and Asia.
Complementing the marketplace is Vortex, a digital distribution platform intended to help merchants integrate services faster and deploy products across multiple channels. PLDT Global said the platform is designed to support businesses seeking quicker market entry and wider access to overseas Filipino consumers.
The company added that its digital ad management solutions enable businesses to run targeted campaigns tailored to overseas Filipino audiences across different regions.
PLDT Global said the combined ecosystem of TinBo and Vortex is intended to help Philippine brands improve visibility and strengthen engagement with Filipinos abroad as competition for diaspora markets increases.
Overseas Filipinos remain a major economic driver for the Philippines through remittances and cross-border spending, prompting businesses to invest more heavily in digital services and e-commerce platforms aimed at diaspora communities.
To promote its overseas Filipino engagement initiatives, PLDT Global will hold a networking event titled “Sync City ‘26: Reaching Filipinos Worldwide” on May 21 at Monarch Manila.
The event is expected to gather Philippine brands and merchants interested in exploring international growth opportunities through TinBo and Vortex.
