Hitachi Vantara reported a 32% year-over-year increase in Asia Pacific revenue for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, driven by higher demand for data storage infrastructure as organizations modernize systems and expand artificial intelligence adoption.

The quarter ended June 30, 2026. Product revenue from Hitachi Vantara and third-party offerings increased 52%, while the company’s storage revenue in the region rose 61%, according to the company.

Revenue growth varied across major APAC markets. Korea posted 185% year-over-year growth, followed by mainland China at 112%, Australia and New Zealand at 30%, and ASEAN, including Singapore, at 22%.

The company’s overall APAC block portfolio revenue increased 58%, with high-end storage revenue rising 48% and midrange storage revenue increasing 65%.

Hitachi Vantara attributed the results to increased enterprise investment in data infrastructure as organizations work to support AI initiatives, improve cyber resilience and simplify increasingly complex technology environments.

“The momentum we’re seeing across Asia Pacific reflects a common challenge facing organisations today: how to modernise critical infrastructure while preparing for an AI-driven future,” said Wendy Koh, vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific, Hitachi Vantara.

“Organisations are looking for ways to simplify increasingly complex data environments while improving resilience, operational efficiency and business agility. Our first-quarter performance reflects the confidence customers place in Hitachi Vantara to help them address these challenges and create lasting value from their data,” she added.

The company said demand for enterprise storage is also increasing globally. Citing IDC data, Hitachi Vantara said worldwide external original equipment manufacturer enterprise storage systems revenue grew 22.7% year over year in the first quarter of 2026, partly driven by AI infrastructure demand and deferred spending on system refreshes.

Hitachi Vantara’s Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) portfolio is central to its APAC growth. The platform combines block, file and object data within a unified environment and is designed to support workloads across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.

The VSP One Block portfolio includes systems for mid-sized organizations and large enterprises. Its High End offering is designed for mission-critical applications, mainframe systems and AI workloads, while VSP 360 provides centralized management and operational visibility.

The VSP One Block High End platform supports up to 50 million input/output operations per second, eight nines of availability, integrated cyber resilience capabilities and a 4:1 data reduction guarantee, according to the company.

“As organisations expand their use of AI while continuing to support mission-critical applications, they need storage infrastructure that can keep pace without making their environments harder to manage,” said Scott Sinclair, practice director, Infrastructure, Cloud & DevOps, Omdia.

“VSP One Block High End brings together the performance, resilience and scale these workloads demand in a unified platform, giving customers a practical path to modernise their data foundation while keeping complexity in check,” he added.

Hitachi Vantara said VSP One has also received industry recognition, including the 2026 Global Tech Award for Data Technology and the 2026 CloudX Award in the Cloud, Object and Data Storage category.

The company was also named a Leader and Fast Mover in the 2026 GigaOm Radars for Object Storage and Unstructured Data Management.

Hitachi Vantara’s APAC figures cover ASEAN, including Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Korea and Taiwan, and exclude Japan.
