GADGETS | Smart opens iPhone Duo preorders

Smart Communications will accept preorders for Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo from 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2026, with monthly payments starting at P6,304 under Smart Postpaid Plans+ 1999.
Customers can place orders through the Smart Online Store. Smart Infinity members may also contact their relationship manager or dial *800. Customers who miss the preorder window will be placed on a waitlist, the company said.
The device is available under Smart Postpaid Plans+ 1999, with zero-interest credit card installments of up to 24 months through select banks. The plan includes an open-line device, a choice of Unli App bundle, 12 months of Unli 5G, Open Access Data and high priority on Smart’s network.
Existing Smart Postpaid subscribers renewing their plans can opt for payment terms of up to 36 months, with installments charged to their postpaid bills.
Successful preorder customers will receive 18GB of free Open Access Data valid for three months, a P5,000 discount voucher for select Smart accessories and an 18% discount on select third-party Digimap accessories.
Customers who preorder through the Smart Online Store will also receive an AirTag, while those who order through Smart Prepaid will receive a free eSIM.
Infinity plans offer roaming options
Smart Infinity offers the iPhone Duo under plans starting with Infinity Plan 5000. Subscribers can also avail themselves of Infinity Roam+ plans, which include up to 40GB of data valid for 365 days.
The Infinity Plus Plan 9500 includes one primary line and two supplementary lines. Other membership benefits include worldwide lifestyle assistance through Infinity Concierge, 24-hour hotline support, partner offers through the Infinity Collection, dedicated relationship managers and priority assistance at Smart stores nationwide.
Foldable design, larger display
The iPhone Duo has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display. Its foldable design supports features including Duo Preview, Smart Take and Split View. The device also uses Apple’s A20 Pro chip and features an advanced camera system and an all-day battery, according to the release.
Smart Device Link allows customers to connect multiple compatible Apple devices to one Smart Postpaid account. Apple Watch users, for example, can access calls, messages and mobile data even when their iPhones are not nearby. The service costs P199 per month, charged to the subscriber’s postpaid bill.
Smart said its 5G network supports the service. The company added that Ookla recognized it for the Philippines’ best mobile video experience in the first half of 2026, based on a video score of 72.82.
