TELECOM | PLDT Group wins ASEAN award for AI risk management tool
Presented by the ASEAN Innovation Business Platform (AIBP), the award recognizes digital initiatives across Southeast Asia for business impact, scalability and governance.
PLDT Group’s Enterprise Risk Intelligence Companion Agent (ERICA), an artificial intelligence tool for enterprise risk management, won the 2026 ASEAN Enterprise Innovation Award in the Philippines Data and AI category.
Presented by the ASEAN Innovation Business Platform (AIBP), the award recognizes digital initiatives across Southeast Asia for business impact, scalability and governance.
Developed in-house by PLDT Group’s Enterprise Risk Management and Information Technology teams in collaboration with UiPath, ERICA uses agentic AI to accelerate risk assessments. Processes that previously took days can now be completed in minutes, allowing risk teams to spend more time analyzing findings and making decisions, the company said.
Leah B. Jimenez, PLDT and Smart first vice president, group head for enterprise risk management and chief data privacy officer, said the tool was developed to help business units use risk intelligence more effectively.
“More than an award, it reflects the value that AI can create when it is designed to solve real business challenges,” Jimenez said.
Despite the automation, human review remains part of ERICA’s process. A risk professional must review and approve each assessment before any action is taken, according to PLDT Group.
The award was presented during the AIBP Conference and Exhibition Philippines at the Manila Marriott Hotel, with support from the Department of Science and Technology.
PLDT Group said ERICA forms part of its broader effort to apply AI across business operations to improve efficiency, strengthen decision-making and support risk management.
