TELECOM | PLDT Global, Smart offer free connectivity to Filipinos in Saudi Arabia
Filipinos in Saudi Arabia can use their TinBo Smart Virtual Number to contact the hotlines at no cost.
PLDT Global and Smart Communications are providing free mobile data and calls to help Filipinos in Saudi Arabia stay connected with their families and Philippine government agencies amid an ongoing incident in the country.
Smart will provide subscribers currently in Saudi Arabia with a free 1GB roaming data package valid for five days. Subscribers can monitor their data allocation through Smart GigaRoam.
Meanwhile, PLDT Global is offering free calls through its Tindahan ni Bossing (TinBo) digital platform to two government hotlines: the Department of Migrant Workers-Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (DMW-OWWA) Helpline at 1348 and the Actionline Against Human Trafficking at 1343.
Filipinos in Saudi Arabia can use their TinBo Smart Virtual Number to contact the hotlines at no cost. Those who need assistance accessing the free calling service can reach TinBo through Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp.
PLDT Global is also opening free calls through the Smart Virtual Number to PLDT landlines, Smart, TNT and other Philippine mobile numbers, allowing overseas Filipinos to contact relatives and other support networks at home.
“Our priority is to help Filipinos overseas stay connected when they need it most. We are making it easier for our kababayans in Saudi Arabia to reach their loved ones and access critical support services as they navigate this situation,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, president and CEO of PLDT Global and head of PLDT and Smart International Business.
PLDT Global and Smart said they are monitoring developments and are prepared to provide further assistance to customers as needed.
