EDUCATION | Institut Polytechnique de Paris launches its online review
An online review dedicated to understanding research and innovation issues in science and technology-related fields.
The Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) announced recently the launch of Polytechnique Insights, an online review dedicated to understanding research and innovation issues in science and technology-related fields, and in particular their socio-economic and environmental implications.
This new review, dedicated to innovation and featuring researchers and their work, covers a variety of topics – from fundamental research topics all the way to research applications. Open access and free of charge, Polytechnique Insights focuses on topics in line with the public interest and offers two types of editorial formats: researcher columns and extensive articles to help shed light on major contemporary issues.
The review’s content, gathered in a free bi-monthly newsletter distributed every other Friday, is available in English and in French on the Polytechnique Insights website, and shared mainly on LinkedIn and Twitter.
Polytechnique Insights builds on the Institut Polytechnique de Paris’ excellent scientific environment (30 laboratories, 40 academic and research Chairs, 1,000 professors and researchers), which carries out major disciplinary and interdisciplinary research. 10 academic and research departments as well asboth existing (Energy for Climate (E4C) and Hi! PARIS on AI) and planned (Defense and Security, Quantum Technologies, and Health Science) interdisciplinary centers help structure the cutting-edge research in fundamental and applied science that goes on at IP Paris.
“Polytechnique Insights embodies the excellence, diversity, and innovation potential of our research and the ecosystem we have built at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, driven by our teachers and researchers, our alumni, and our research and industrial partners,” said Eric Labaye, president of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. “In addition to being the main driver of awareness for IP Paris, this online review contributes to the initiatives that will allow France to become a key player in scientific progress and societal well-being.”
Headed by Clément Boulle (Executive Director) and James Bowers (Editor in Chief), Polytechnique Insights is equipped with a Board of Directors that guides its development. An Editorial Board selects and approves topics, helping to ensure the balance and quality of the articles covered by the review. Funded by 19 sponsors over the period 2020-2022, Polytechnique Insights is supported by: Altice, Ardian, Arkema, Axa, Deloitte, EDF, Engie, Generali, Goldman Sachs, Groupama, Iliad, L’Oréal, LVMH, Pharo Foundation, Sanofi, Société Générale, Sopra Steria, Total, and Veolia.
For its first issue, available starting February 5th, Polytechnique Insights will focus on topics including the current health crisis, personalized medicine, aviation decarbonization, and bioplastics.
