Shure, the Niles, Illinois, U.S.-based audio products company, responded to the need of AV integrators and end users for intuitive, simplified functionality, and recently launched its next-generation architecture array technology with its MXA920 ceiling array microphone.
“The new microphone provides pre-configured audio capture, with minimal set up required, through its proprietary ‘automatic coverage’ technology—drastically reducing the time and cost of deployments for integrators,” said Tia de Guzman, marketing communications manager of Audiophile Components, Shure’s local distributor.
“This model’s next-gen array architecture enhances directional pick-up, for more natural speech,” added De Guzman. “In layman’s terms, this means you can capture only the meeting participants you want to capture – while avoiding the areas you want to exclude. The system sends the precise location of every speaker to your camera control system for more accurate camera tracking. Plus, the onboard digital signal processor (DSP) delivers noise and echo-free performance. The microphone’s new DSP algorithms enable the output of more natural speech for participants to be heard clearly and precisely.”
The executive further explained that the product is certified for use with Microsoft Teams when used with the audio company’s networked loudspeakers and DSP. “The final output is, consistently, total audio clarity and intelligibility for AV conferencing across room types and challenging acoustic spaces—hybrid executive boardrooms, higher education hybrid classrooms, and hybrid corporate and government meeting spaces,” the company’s press statement said.
“Two hardware form factors, square and round, support design integration into most facilities and meeting spaces,” said De Guzman, stressing that “today, AV conferencing customers require next-gen solutions that capture the voice naturally, fitting into a room’s aesthetic, and making it effortless to connect participants—no matter where they are.
