Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) continues its legacy of championing motorsports in the Philippines through its flagship TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) programs for local racing talents, fans, and enthusiasts.

TMP is opening another exciting motorsports season with the 2023 edition of its premier one-make-race series, the TGR Vios Cup, and its biggest national e-motorsports championship, the TGR Gran Turismo (GT) Cup Philippines.

Motorsports fans can look forward to catching both on-track and online races with these two thrilling events coming up.

Feel the heat of race track action

The TGR Vios Cup kick started its ninth season with the first out of three legs happening on July 1 at the Clark International Speedway. Admission is FREE for on-site spectators who can witness the action live starting at 9am. Online viewers may likewise tune in via the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippines Facebook page.

Jam-packed with races, fun activities, and fresh highlights for thrill-seeking race fans, the much-anticipated racing event is gearing up to provide racing enthusiasts with a day full of heart-pumping action.

This year, the TGR Vios Cup is also introducing a new race format and bringing in a surprise for Toyota fans to further turn up the heat.

The 2023 TGR Vios Cup will feature both seasoned and upcoming racers in the Super Sporting, Sporting, and Promotional classes of its Circuit Championship event. Celebrity and media personalities will also test their driving speed in the Autocross Challenge.

Since the TGR Vios Cup started in 2014, it has brought the thrill of racing closer to Filipinos by inviting racers from homegrown professional and amateur teams to race the locally made fan-favorite sedan, the Toyota Vios, in its one-make-race (OMR) form.

Usually held in the biggest racetrack in the country, the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga, the OMR series has also taken the roads of Cebu, Alabang, Pasay and Taguig.

To provide Filipinos the opportunity to fulfill their racing ambitions and experience the heart-pumping excitement of racing, TMP conducts racing classes through the TGR Academy. In May, aspiring racers got the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the OMR Vios at the Clark International Speedway as they learned the basics of racing from Vios Cup veterans.

This year also marks a bigger and better TGR GT Cup Philippines.

The TGR GT Cup Philippines gathers e-motorsports players all over the country to compete to be the fastest e-racer in the Philippines. After three qualifying rounds, the best of the best will race live in a national finals to be held in a public Manila venue.

Winners will then go on to represent the Philippines at the TGR GT Cup Asia Regional Finals, competing with fellow champion e-racers from neighboring Asian countries.

Winners of the 2023 season will also get to race in the next season of the TGR Vios Cup, allowing them to further their racing skills on the actual racetracks.

Free registration for the 2023 season is open to all Filipinos with a Sony PlayStation 4 or 5 with an active PSN Account and PS PLUS Subscription! Interested participants may register through toyota.com.ph/gtcup. The first local round will be broadcast on the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippines Facebook page on June 23.
